First Dance

Image
The dust from the Covid-19 pandemic is finally settling a bit.  Life is slowly returning to normal in many ways.  The schools are getting back to having normal functions again, like dances.  Evangeline's Jr. High dance was a western theme.  We happened to have the most perfect dress.  Colleen made this dress for her a few years back and by golly, it still fits!  I have a million pictures of me helping Evangeline get ready.  I started to delete some of them, but this was such a fun and special moment, I really can't bring myself to delete too many of them.  I put a little make up on her and she felt so grown up.  She is such a natural beauty, she needs no make up at all, but it made the night feel even more special for her.  We are a couple of silly girls who have so much fun together.... We met up with Alex in the parking lot so the girls could walk in together.  When I went to pick her up she was on Cloud 9.  She told me all a...

Choir cafe

The Choir Café is the fundraiser for the Jr and Sr. High chorus.  This year it was a Disney theme, which was right up Evangeline's alley.  It was so wonderful with a medley of Disney songs and choreography.  I was very impressed.  There was even a silent auction where my mom won a Mickey Lounge Fly backpack which she gave to a very excited Evangeline, and a Disney gift card which she generously gifted to Jed.   Evangeline and Alex.... And here is a picture Mrs. Reynolds sent me of Jed and his Twinkie chick.  Jed told his teacher that Twinkies are really gross because they are so processed they can sit out for months without molding.  Everybody at school gets the biggest kick out of Jed.  He is hilarious.

Art and Other Things

These are a few of the art projects Evangeline brought home from her 7th grade art class.  She really seemed to make an impression on her teacher.  This is her teacher's last year before retirement.  She even had Kyle at the beginning of her career.  Her name is Mrs. Meeker.  I received an email from Mrs. Meeker where she mentioned how talented Evangeline is as an artist.  She said that not only that, but she is a sweet girl.  I was so proud to get this email.  I'll try to include it in this book.  I am so behind I am lucky to get what I can recorded at this point!!  I will forever be amazed at Evangeline's gift of art.   Our house.... Quick trip to Indy to shop and see the family.....
