School Stuff

Jed loves school.  He's a social dude.  Here are a few pictures of Jed in his element.  His teacher posts these on his class page and I'm so grateful for a glimpse into his day at school.  He gets to read his reader to the class after he's mastered it.  He enjoys learning to read.  They do so many fun activities in his class.  

He enjoyed being Star Student and sharing his poster with the class.  He also loves to learn about his classmates when they are the Star Student and shares with me what he's learned about his friends.  

In January he won the Responsibility character award from his teacher!  I was lucky enough to be walking by when the principal was getting ready to present it, so I got to be there to watch him get recognized.  

For the 100th day of school the kindergarten class dressed up like they were 100 years old.  Jed is reluctant to dress up for some of the theme days, but I got him to wear a few accessories and he looked so stinking cute.  

On the way to school we added a newspaper to complete the look. 

THEN on the 101 day of school the teachers dressed the students up like Dalmatians.  The kids picked their dog name for the day and Jed was Minecraft.  

The bandage on the head at the end of the day was from a wipe out at recess.  He's sure a cute puppy! 

Evangeline made a cover for her school binder and I just had to take a picture of it because it's full of things she loves and pictures of her family.  She said it makes her happy to look at during the day.

School Holiday Fun

South School is a really exciting place around the holidays!  We had different dress up days all the week leading up to Christmas break.  Here we are on holiday accessory day!  One day the week leading up to break, our principal, Mrs. Morgan found me in the hallway and told me I needed to drop everything and report to the office.  When I got there I found the rest of the 1st grade teachers there too!  She told us she was taking us on a little getaway.  We boarded the school's short bus where Christmas music was blaring and were driven to McDonalds to get whatever drink we wanted.  While we were gone she had aides covering our classrooms.  It was such a fun surprise.  She told us how much she appreciates all we have done during this super challenging school year, and this was just a little something special.  Evangeline participated in the locker decorating contest.  She had such fun bringing her supplies and getting it done during h...

Cozy at Home

Snow day painting...dreaming of all the flowers in my garden....I have a bunch of old frames so I'm putting a collage of my painted flowers in my bathroom.  It's a cheery touch.  I pulled out some of my old cozy knits I did years ago.  Evangeline loved them!  Pickles did too.  Jed had to join in the fun sporting a toddler sweater...I'm glad they both appreciate those kinds of things...

Down Time

Evangeline was chomping at the bit to use some of her money to go buy a case for her new phone.  We went to TH to look around and then made a stop at Starbucks.  Evangeline felt like a big kid.  We had a fun girls outing.  She wanted to sit inside Starbucks and cuddle on a couch drinking our beverages together.  It was a special moment for me too.  This girl is growing up into such a delightful young lady.   We tried real hard to give our money to an actual shop to purchase the case, but no one had anything that would work.  We ended up resorting to Amazon.  She was really pleased when her sparkly pink case with a heart shaped pop socket arrived in the mail.  The rest of the week was spent lounging around doing all the things we love to do at home.  My nephew's, Cale and Liam came for a sleepover.  We all had so much fun with them!  Jed was of course in his happy place with Cale there to play with.  Evangeline an...
