The Sweet Stuff

We had Alex over to play and decorate cookies.  Evangeline made the gingerbread cookies from scratch before she came.  

Evangeline made our family as gingerbread people.....

One morning Pickles hopped up and laid beside Jed.  Jed asked me to take a picture of them.  

I had intentions of making Christmas cards this year, but it didn't happen.  I was planning to use one of these pictures for the card.  I love all of these for various reasons, so here they are...a bunch of the same picture with the just slightest little differences that make them all so special to a mother. 

This was the first year we put lights on our house.  We strung lights on the new trees we had planted last fall.  We also have a snowflake projector on the garage and candles in the windows.  It's very festive and cozy.

School Holiday Fun

South School is a really exciting place around the holidays!  We had different dress up days all the week leading up to Christmas break.  Here we are on holiday accessory day!  One day the week leading up to break, our principal, Mrs. Morgan found me in the hallway and told me I needed to drop everything and report to the office.  When I got there I found the rest of the 1st grade teachers there too!  She told us she was taking us on a little getaway.  We boarded the school's short bus where Christmas music was blaring and were driven to McDonalds to get whatever drink we wanted.  While we were gone she had aides covering our classrooms.  It was such a fun surprise.  She told us how much she appreciates all we have done during this super challenging school year, and this was just a little something special.  Evangeline participated in the locker decorating contest.  She had such fun bringing her supplies and getting it done during h...

Cozy at Home

Snow day painting...dreaming of all the flowers in my garden....I have a bunch of old frames so I'm putting a collage of my painted flowers in my bathroom.  It's a cheery touch.  I pulled out some of my old cozy knits I did years ago.  Evangeline loved them!  Pickles did too.  Jed had to join in the fun sporting a toddler sweater...I'm glad they both appreciate those kinds of things...

Down Time

Evangeline was chomping at the bit to use some of her money to go buy a case for her new phone.  We went to TH to look around and then made a stop at Starbucks.  Evangeline felt like a big kid.  We had a fun girls outing.  She wanted to sit inside Starbucks and cuddle on a couch drinking our beverages together.  It was a special moment for me too.  This girl is growing up into such a delightful young lady.   We tried real hard to give our money to an actual shop to purchase the case, but no one had anything that would work.  We ended up resorting to Amazon.  She was really pleased when her sparkly pink case with a heart shaped pop socket arrived in the mail.  The rest of the week was spent lounging around doing all the things we love to do at home.  My nephew's, Cale and Liam came for a sleepover.  We all had so much fun with them!  Jed was of course in his happy place with Cale there to play with.  Evangeline an...
