A Busy Girl

With Evangeline in the PALS cub this year she gets to do special things like come to read at my school.  Mr. Jacob, the sponsor, paired Evangeline up with my room.  My students were so excited to meet Evangeline!  It was a very proud moment for me.

The Jr. High choir and band Christmas concerts were both wonderful.  Evangeline is the beautiful little girl in the plaid dress, front row.

We've enjoyed watching Evangeline play the drums at the halftime of several of the Jr. High basketball games. 

After one of the games I got to go see her locker.  It's covered with cat magnets, plant magnets, a picture of Pickles, Savannah and Lily, and she and Jed.  She also has a picture of Jesus on a scripture card. 

Evangeline's also been busy with confirmation classes.  She's been going every Sunday since the fall.  Pictured here are the girls from her class making Christmas cookies at Diane Rardin's house, who is one of the mentors.

School Holiday Fun

South School is a really exciting place around the holidays!  We had different dress up days all the week leading up to Christmas break.  Here we are on holiday accessory day!  One day the week leading up to break, our principal, Mrs. Morgan found me in the hallway and told me I needed to drop everything and report to the office.  When I got there I found the rest of the 1st grade teachers there too!  She told us she was taking us on a little getaway.  We boarded the school's short bus where Christmas music was blaring and were driven to McDonalds to get whatever drink we wanted.  While we were gone she had aides covering our classrooms.  It was such a fun surprise.  She told us how much she appreciates all we have done during this super challenging school year, and this was just a little something special.  Evangeline participated in the locker decorating contest.  She had such fun bringing her supplies and getting it done during h...

Cozy at Home

Snow day painting...dreaming of all the flowers in my garden....I have a bunch of old frames so I'm putting a collage of my painted flowers in my bathroom.  It's a cheery touch.  I pulled out some of my old cozy knits I did years ago.  Evangeline loved them!  Pickles did too.  Jed had to join in the fun sporting a toddler sweater...I'm glad they both appreciate those kinds of things...

Down Time

Evangeline was chomping at the bit to use some of her money to go buy a case for her new phone.  We went to TH to look around and then made a stop at Starbucks.  Evangeline felt like a big kid.  We had a fun girls outing.  She wanted to sit inside Starbucks and cuddle on a couch drinking our beverages together.  It was a special moment for me too.  This girl is growing up into such a delightful young lady.   We tried real hard to give our money to an actual shop to purchase the case, but no one had anything that would work.  We ended up resorting to Amazon.  She was really pleased when her sparkly pink case with a heart shaped pop socket arrived in the mail.  The rest of the week was spent lounging around doing all the things we love to do at home.  My nephew's, Cale and Liam came for a sleepover.  We all had so much fun with them!  Jed was of course in his happy place with Cale there to play with.  Evangeline an...
