Hanukkah Celebration

Image
We helped Reid celebrate Hanukkah again this year.  The menorah was lit, potato latkes and cabbage soup were consumed, gifts were given to the children, the dreidel game was played.  Reid gave a very nice talk about bringing light and goodness into the world while we lit the menorah.  It was a nice evening.  We have a lot of fun playing with the dreidel....  Latkes fried to perfection....

Tree Trimming

My little elves decorating their tree.   It's full of their handmade ornaments, which are my absolute favorite and they enjoy looking at them each year.

Tree farm

Picking out the tree had to be a little more thought out this year due to the lack of room in our house.  We recently purchased a larger couch and we don't have the room for a large tree.  Kyle was very specific about the size of the tree.  We ended up finding a dandy though and the house looked beautiful despite the down size.   Here it is!  Our perfect tree!!   Mr. and Mrs. Claus were at the tree farm this day and Jed waisted no time hoping up to report that he had been a good boy and that he would like a Nintendo Switch and a holiday Minecraft set.  Evangeline was reluctant to sit with Santa this year 😔  Thankfully, Santa insisted.  She told him that she wanted a bunch of candy canes.....  Later confessing to me that she couldn't think of anything else to tell him that she wanted so she quickly defaulted to candy canes.

Thanksgiving take 2

Image
Thanksgiving take two was at the farm.  Here are the boys enjoying persimmon pudding.  The all three love it.   These plates at my dad's are my dream.  This rose pattern speaks to me so deeply.  I am on the hunt for something like this when we replace our dishes.    Dad's homemade bread..... And this cute little shaver is my dad himself.... Jody and Terry left their childhood books for the kids.  Evangeline was so thrilled to find a whole box for herself.  Jody even left notes on his books, which was extraordinarily special.   The little boys also had such fun with the big bears from Aunt Rita.   Taking a walk down the lane to the pond is the most fun!   This picture was captured by the deer camera!   Mom took these pictures of Kyle and I and I love them so much!
